Bishop Caesar Romero Cabiness
Bishop Caesar Romero Cabiness, Senior Pastor of Praise Tabernacle Inc. a resident of Bellerose, NY, is married to the lovely Lillie S. Cabiness, and is the father of six children. He responded to the divine call of ministry in 1986. Humbled with a love for the Almighty, he placed himself under devout pioneers exhibiting strength in the faith. He served under his late uncle Rev. C. L. Sampson at Stairway of Faith Enlightened C.O.G.I.C. and the late Dr. James Titus Burkes at Evergreen C.O.G.I.C. He performed as national adjutant under late Prelate Bishop F.D. Washington.
Developed in several capacities of ministry under these and other strong leaders led him to become a seasoned pillar of the church. Bishop Cabiness was ordained in April 1988 by the Presiding Bishop of the C.O.G.I.C. Inc. Bishop J.O. Patterson Sr. Already serving, he was installed Pastor of Praise Tabernacle, Inc. in September of 1992 by Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. Bishop's desire was to see the Spirit of God manifested in the lives of people. Hence, he incorporated the motto, “The Spirit of God working through the Word of God in the lives of God’s people.
Bishop Cabiness renovated Praise Tabernacle from a formerly dilapidated dance hall site into a towering place of praise where people can worship and find refuge and strength. He is the founder of Te’Hillah School of Urban Ministry, a school for Christian Education and Nu Image Empowerment Centre, a community based program, affiliates of Praise Tabernacle, Inc.
Bishop Cabiness has studied diligently attaining numerous certificates and awards from various institutions such as Bethel Bible Institute, O.M. Kelly Religious Training Institute, Logos Bible College, and Northgate Bible College, where he received his baccalaureate degrees. Bishop Cabiness also holds a Master and Doctorate degree in Sacred Theology from United Christian College.
On April 20, 2013, Pastor Cabiness was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop, with the late Bishops: James H. Everett, Frank O. White, and James H. Gaylord serving as consecrators. In 2018, Bishop Cabiness joined in fellowship with his roots, and was inducted into the Board of Bishops of the Church of God in Christ by Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. Bishop Cabiness continues to serve the church as a member of the Executive Board of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Eastern New York under Bishop James Pullings. He is Dean of the jurisdictions 4th Saturday Conference.
His ministry extends beyond church walls even to foreign lands supporting missions in Jamaica. He serves as Chaplain in crises for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). He can be heard propagating the gospel message of Jesus Christ over the airways of QPTV weekly.
In all of his years of serving in ministry, there have certainly been seasons on doubt and uncertainty, having to face the many challenges of life and ministry. But Bishop's stance has not changed from day one. He holds on to the words of Jehoshaphat found in 2 Chronicles 20:12(KJV), "O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee."
A Word from the Bishop
Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give praise to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, in inviting you to our fellowship.
We extend our hearts in welcoming you to join us in worship. Worship is witnessed in the church and is daily expressed in the life of the believers. The church has the opportunity to bless the heart of God through the praises of her people. At Praise Tabernacle, we believe in the balance of worshiping in the Spirit and walking in the truth of God’s Word. We also believe if we prepare our people to study the word of God, they will not fall prey to every wind of doctrine. Our model for this ministry is the early church as described in the New Testament.
From the pulpit to the door, we want the growth, compassion, and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that they had. So why not join us in hearing the precious word of God during the service times listed.
In God’s Service,
Bishop Caesar R. Cabiness
Senior Pastor
